AU Chairperson has commended the members of the Pan African Parliament
The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission Mahmoud Ali Youssouf has commended the members of the Pan African Parliament for coming out in the numbers for the Seventh Legislature Parliament in Midrand in South Africa’s (SA) Gauteng Province.
The session is focused on key institutional matters, including the election of the Bureau of the Seventh Legislature scheduled for Thursday.
The Bureau comprises a President and four Vice Presidents representing Africa’s five regions and serves as the Parliament’s highest leadership and administrative structure.
Youssouf reaffirmed that the AU remains committed to a “transparent, inclusive, rules-based process” and stands ready to support the Parliament in navigating the pivotal moment toward greater resilience, credibilityand service to Africa’s aspirations.
