South African (SA) coach Steve Barker has won his first trophy with Tanzanian football giants Simba SC after guiding them to a dramatic extra-time victory over rivals Young Africans in the Muungano Cup final.
Barker, who joined Simba SC in December, has quickly made an impact, ending the team’s poor run against their biggest rivals and stopping Young Africans’ recent winning streak.
Simba were dominant throughout the competition, winning all three of their matches without conceding a single goal.
The victory marks Barker’s second career trophy, after previously winning a domestic cup with Stellenbosch FC in SA in 2023.
