President of the PAP, Fateh Boutbig, has urged members to remain united

The President of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), Fateh Boutbig, has urged members to remain united following the election of the institution’s new bureau.

The elections, held earlier this week, passed without incident, a marked contrast to previous votes that were disrupted by divisions and chaotic scenes.

Boutbig acknowledged the progress but warned that the Parliament still faces significant challenges ahead.

“Our people deserve a more active Parliament,” he said, calling on members to work together and avoid internal divisions.

He stressed that unity within the institution is critical if it is to effectively represent the interests of Africans across the continent and deliver on its mandate.
