South Africa’s (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa has hosted Mozambique’s President Daniel Chapo in Pretoria for talks aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.

Discussions focused on expanding co-operation in energy, transport and logistics, as well as enhancing joint efforts to combat transnational organised crime.

Addressing the media, Ramaphosa said the talks covered a wide range of shared priorities.

“We’ve had very extensive discussions on matters of mutual interest spanning the economy, security, as well as social issues. We also looked at how we can deepen co-operation at an investment level, and addressed issues of restrictions that have been introduced,” he said.
