Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has confirmed that more than eight million people have been registered to vote ahead of the country’s elections scheduled for August 13.
The commission says the figure reflects strong public participation in Zambia’s democratic process, as preparations gather pace for the national polls.
Electoral authorities have indicated that logistical arrangements are underway to ensure a smooth and credible election. These include setting up polling stations, training election staff and continuing voter education campaigns across the country.
The ECZ has also urged citizens to maintain peace and adhere to electoral regulations in the lead-up to voting day.
