The President of Gabon, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema is continuing his state visit to Angola, with talks focused on strengthening economic co-operation and regional stability between the two oil-producing nations.

Nguema is expected to visit key strategic sites in Luanda, including the Luanda Refinery and Angola’s Higher War School. An economic roundtable aimed at boosting trade and investment between Angola and Gabon also forms part of the programme.

The visit comes as both countries seek to diversify their economies beyond oil and deepen cooperation in areas such as energy, infrastructure and regional security.

Angolan political analyst Damarcio dos Santos said the visit highlights growing efforts by African countries to strengthen partnerships within the continent.

“Both Angola and Gabon are looking at ways to build stronger economic co-operation while also sharing experiences in managing strategic resources and maintaining regional stability,” Santos said.

He added that closer co-operation between Luanda and Libreville could open up new opportunities for trade and investment, particularly in the energy sector.
