The last day of Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026 is expected to focus on securing final business deals, reflecting on key takeaways and celebrating the success of the three-day exhibition.
The annual event, held at the Durban International Convention Centre, was officially opened by South Africa’s (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa on Tuesday.
Plenary discussions held have emphasised the importance of strengthening coexistence, promoting intra-African tourism trade, and relaxing travel restrictions for African tourists wishing to explore the continent.
These exhibitors say more events are needed to help stimulate and strengthen Africa’s economy.
“It’s very important for us because it promotes our industry it is our source market. We have just launched our route to Zambia, meaning that we need to strengthen our ties with Southern African countries as well. We need to come here as we are not just promoting regional tourism.”
“It was really important for us to be present here at Indaba because it is the main African tourism fair. In terms of connectivity with Africa by all means, Mauritius is part of Africa, and we are very proud to say that. But I think there are other opportunities we have flights to Kenya and flights to SA”, says another exhibitor.
