Coach Prosper Ogum says Ghana national under-17 football team are ready to handle the pressure ahead of their opening match at the CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The young Ghanaian side, popularly known as the Black Starlets, will begin their campaign against Algeria in a difficult group that also features defending champions Senegal and South Africa.
Ogum said the current squad is determined to build its own legacy while honouring Ghana’s rich history in youth football.
“This generation wants to create its own identity and write its own story, while respecting the success that Ghana has achieved in youth football over the years,” he said.
Ogum added that the tournament remains an important platform for developing young African talent and giving players exposure on the international stage.
