DRC Ebola outbreak
The World Health Organisation (WHO) says frontline workers are working with local leaders, women’s groups, young people, motorcycle taxi operators and traditional healers to counter misinformation and encourage people to seek care early.
Speaking to United Nations News, WHO Africa Emergencies Director Doctot Marie-Roseline Belizaire said the response is focused on combining scientific evidence with community realities to help stop the spread of the virus.
The WHO continues to support national authorities in surveillance, case management, contact tracing and public awareness campaigns as efforts intensify to stop the spread of Ebola and protect vulnerable communities across affected areas of the DRC.
