South Africa’s (SA) Gauteng Provincial government says unlocking the full potential of the province’s agro-processing sector will require greater investment, improved access to finance and stronger support for entrepreneurs.
Stakeholders gathered at the Gauteng Agro-processing Convention and Expo to explore ways of accelerating the sector’s growth, strengthening regulatory compliance and expanding access to both domestic and international markets.
Agro-processing is increasingly being viewed as a key driver of economic growth, job creation and food security in the Gauteng province.
But despite its potential, industry players say entrepreneurs continue to face significant barriers when trying to grow their businesses and access larger markets.
