Botswana has unveiled a formidable 47-member delegation for the upcoming Commonwealth Games

Botswana has unveiled a formidable 47-member delegation for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, with sports authorities confidently setting a target of seven medals.

The delegation includes 25 elite athletes, alongside coaches, medical staff, and team officials. Botswana’s competitors will fly the national flag across five sporting codes: athletics, judo, lawn bowls, boxing, and swimming.

Speaking at the official team announcement, Minister of Sport and Arts Jacob Kelebeng described the Glasgow stage as both a fierce battleground for podium finishes and a crucial proving ground for the country’s long-term sports strategy. Kelebeng highlighted that these games serve as a direct runway to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, which are now just two years away, giving the nation’s top talent a vital opportunity to test themselves against world-class opposition.
