President Arthur Peter Mutharika has declared that his administration remains steadfast in creating a conducive environment for a prosperous Malawi, identifying full economic independence as the nation’s next crucial mission.
In a national message marking Independence Day, Mutharika assured citizens that despite severe global natural, political, and economic headwinds, the country’s food security remains under control. He highlighted that macroeconomic stability is steadily taking root across the country, laying a fertile foundation for new investments designed to generate foreign exchange, create jobs, and grow the local economy.
Highlighting that the fruits of national growth must benefit all Malawians, he called for widespread national unity. He stressed that achieving genuine economic independence and ensuring equitably shared wealth can only happen if the country works together toward a shared vision.
