Cape Town set to host South Africa-Namibia Women’s Hockey series

South Africa’s (SA) women’s hockey team is set to face Namibia in a four-match test series in Cape Town from July 20 to 24, as the squad steps up its preparations for the upcoming International Hockey Federation Women’s World Cup.

The first three encounters will be played at Elkanah House High School, while the final test match will move to the historic Hartleyvale Stadium.

SA Hockey President Deon Morgan says these international fixtures are vital for building team combinations and match momentum ahead of the global showpiece.

Morgan also notes that playing on home soil serves a dual purpose, strengthening the national hockey programme while giving local fans a direct chance to connect with and back the squad on their road to the World Cup.
