(SA) and UN have signed a new five-year co-operation framework
The government of South Africa (SA) and the United Nations (UN) have signed a new five-year co-operation framework aimed at accelerating inclusive development and progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
The agreement will guide collaboration between 2026 and 2030, with both parties pledging to strengthen partnerships and improve the lives of SA citizens.
The framework focuses on reducing inequality, creating opportunities, and supporting sustainable economic and social development across the country.
The UN says the new five-year co-operation framework with the South African government is more than just a signed agreement, it is a shared commitment to deliver tangible improvements in people’s lives.
Speaking at the launch, UN Resident Co-ordinator Nelson Muffuh, said the partnership comes at a critical time, with less than five years remaining to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, while global progress remains too slow.
