Botswana is gearing up to host the 2026 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Champions League Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) qualifiers, with the action set to take place right here in Gaborone from August 20th to 29th.
The regional tournament will decide which Southern African club earns the highly coveted spot at this year’s continental finals. Fans won’t have to wait long to see how the groups shape up, as the official draw is locked in for July 21st, and the final list of competing teams is expected to be locked down by the end of this week.
There is plenty of local excitement building as defending champions Gaborone United get the massive advantage of trying to retain their crown on home soil. However, they will face a fierce battle as top clubs from across the region arrive in town, all desperate to secure their place in Africa’s premier women’s club competition.
