G7 Foreign Ministers and the European Union’s Foreign Policy Chief urged the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and allied groups in Sudan to halt actions that may lead to further violence in El-Obeid.
They called for an end to hostilities, improved access for aid, and good-faith negotiations among all parties, including the Sudanese army.
In a joint statement, they supported United Nations efforts for crisis de-escalation.
They are also calling for an expansion of the arms embargo to include all of Sudan, while encouraging external actors to cease military support and promote accountability for violations aimed at sustaining Sudan’s unity and democracy.
