Burkina Faso PM hosts AU chief as continental body looks to strengthen Sahel co-operation

The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, has arrived in Burkina Faso for a working visit aimed at patching up relations and boosting co-operation with the Sahelian nation.

Upon his arrival, Youssouf was received by Burkinabé Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo. The high-level meeting focused on strengthening ties between the continental body and Ouagadougou, particularly when it comes to tackling the security crises and development challenges gripping the region.
