A cyberattack that temporarily took down Kenya’s President William Ruto’s official website has put the country’s digital security systems under fresh scrutiny.
The attack highlights both the growing sophistication of cyber threats and the country’s response mechanisms.
Kenya’s Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy says the incident was detected by the government’s Information and Communication Technology Authority.
The officials immediately activated cybersecurity response protocols and temporarily restricted access to the Presidential website to contain the issue and allow forensic investigations.
