Speaking at the opening of the Mozambique Chief Executive Officer Summit in Maputo, President Daniel Chapo has set out a bold economic strategy aimed at turning the country into a major industrial and energy power in Southern Africa.
Addressing business leaders and policymakers, Chapo highlighted that driving industrialisation, diversifying the economy beyond primary resources, expanding local content opportunities, and attracting high-impact foreign investment are vital to accelerating national growth and creating much-needed jobs for Mozambicans.
The strategy arrives at a pivotal moment as Maputo seeks to build a more resilient economic foundation and capitalise on its vast natural energy reserves.
