South Africa’s (SA) Minister of International Relations and Co-operation, Ronald Lamola, has welcomed Germany’s backing of Pretoria’s continued engagement in the G20.
Speaking alongside German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul at a joint media briefing in Pretoria, Lamola reaffirmed SA’s determination to safeguard the inclusivity and standing of the global forum.
Addressing journalists, Lamola highlighted the importance of Berlin’s backing following SA’s exclusion from the upcoming G20 summit in the United States. He emphasised that SA remains dedicated to preserving the legacy of hosting the landmark gathering on African soil and ensuring all member nations maintain equal representation within the body.
