International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) President Gianni Infantino has urgently summoned the international body’s top leadership and senior staff to a crisis meeting in Morocco.

The meeting comes amid a highly volatile climate for world football’s top brass, shaped by Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) recent threats of legal action and pressure from the opposition bloc seeking to bring the institution’s governance to a halt.

Although the specific details of the agenda remain under wraps, the top official is expected to address the growing political disputes and administrative challenges threatening the stability of his leadership at the head of the governing body.

FIFA’s Chief of global football development Arsene Wenger, secretary general Mattias Grafstrom and Prince Ali, president of the Jordanian Football Association, all made clear their opposition to Infantino’s FIFA Forward Enterprise.
