South Africa (SA) has kick-started its Southern African Development Community (SADC) leadership by assuming the Standing Committee of Senior Officials Chairmanship.
The handover from Madagascar was in Durban, Kwazulu-Natal Province, where the main summit will take place on August 17.
SA served as the SADC interim Chairperson after a coup in Madagascar where their President fled the country.
International Relations and Co-operation deputy Director General, Ambassador, Tebogo Seokolo says they have now received the tools of trade to pursue the dream of African unity.
