The government has urged South Africans (SA) to rally behind Banyana Banyana as they face hosts Morocco in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2026 quarter-finals this Saturday night.
The match kicks off at 10pm (local time).
Government Spokesperson William Baloyi says Banyana Banyana’s determination and resilience have inspired the country as they continue to fly the SA flag high on the continental stage.
“Wear your Banyana Banyana jerseys, national colours or other SA symbols of support. Whether at home, at work or in public spaces, let us rally behind the national women’s team as they continue to make SA proud.”
