The International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague has set a schedule for the hearing of cases filed by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) against neighbouring Rwanda.
The decision by the United Nations’ principal judicial body marks a pivotal step in ongoing legal and diplomatic efforts to establish accountability and address long-standing security tensions in the Great Lakes region.
Political analyst Omar Kavota, speaking from Beni in eastern DRC, described the court’s scheduling decision as a significant milestone in the pursuit of justice and legal recourse between Kinshasa and Kigali.

o examine state responsibility and cross-border security concerns impacting the region.
