Political parties in Zambia have been urged to tone down inflammatory language as the counting of ballots continues after Thursday’s elections.
The counting was briefly halted on Friday following reports of political violence.
The Electoral Commission on Saturday resumed the counting of vote and the results are expected to be announced later today.
Meanwhile political commentators have warned that electoral challenges in Zambia are likely to severely compromise the credibility of the country’s democratic process.
