Mozambique boosts oversight on foreign vaccines

Mozambique government has tightened security and regulatory oversight on imported medicines and vaccines to combat counterfeit pharmaceuticals and ensure public health safety.

Under the new directives, health authorities and border control agencies will implement stricter inspection protocols, mandatory batch verifications, and enhanced tracking systems for all medical supplies entering the country.

The policy shift follows growing concerns over sub-standard, illicit, and falsified medical products circulating within regional supply chains.

Ministry of Health officials highlighted that the measures aim to safeguard the population while streamlining clearance procedures for legitimate pharmaceutical suppliers and international health partners.
