Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has ordered a comprehensive reform of the nation’s football governance structure following the resignation of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Ibrahim Gusau and the federation’s entire leadership team.
The presidential directive was confirmed in an official statement issued on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, marking one of the most significant administrative shakeups in West African football history.
Gusau publicly confirmed his departure during a press conference in Abuja, which was followed by an announcement from the NFF confirming the joint resignations of General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi and key members of the federation’s Executive Committee.
