Pitso Mosimane has officially been unveiled as the new head coach of Bafana Bafana, following a three-week delay after the South African Football Association (SAFA) National Executive Committee approved his appointment.
Mosimane steps into the role following the departure of Hugo Broos, who led SA to a historic knockout round finish at the FIFA World Cup in North America.
This marks Mosimane’s second permanent stint at the helm of the national team, having previously served as head coach from 2010 to 2012. His first tenure ended after Bafana Bafana failed to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
His immediate focus now turns to preparing the squad for the upcoming 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign, which kicks off at the end of this month.
