More than 2 000 African and global business leaders and heads of state will gather in New York this month.

Unstoppable Africa is a flagship event of the Global Africa Business Initiative (GABI). It is convened by United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres and Chairperson of the African Union Commission, His Excellency Mahmoud Ali Youssouf.

Chief of Staff at the UN Global Compact, Chigozirim Bodart, has more details on the event:

“Really, at its core, it’s about changing the narrative about Africa and, more importantly, where conversations around Africa can translate into business opportunities, investments and partnerships. We already have confirmation from presidents. We are in discussions with the President of Botswana, we have ministers from Rwanda coming, we have Anglo American South Africa coming, we have Phuti Mahanyele-Dabengwa of Naspers joining us, and a whole host of Chief Executive Officer’s and officials.”
