South Africa’s (SA) largest nursing union, the Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa, (DENOSA), has given health authorities in Gauteng Province until next month to address staff shortages.
The organisation says their members need improved conditions in public hospitals.
The union is also calling for better health infrastructure, fewer vacant or acting management positions, and reliable supplies of medicines and medical equipment.
DENOSA says failure to address their concerns will lead to protests across the province.
