The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) plans to officially launch trading on its new stock exchange, the Kinshasa Stock Exchange, between June and December 2027.
DRC Finance Minister Doudou Fwamba announced the timeline following the enactment of the country’s first primary stock market legislation.
The law establishes a formal framework for a national securities exchange, enabling domestic companies to raise capital locally rather than relying exclusively on commercial bank loans or foreign financing.
While the legislative groundwork is now in place, government officials noted that the formal launch remains subject to establishing key regulatory bodies and technical trading infrastructure over the next two years.
