The High court in Gqeberha in South Africa’s (SA) Eastern Cape Province will today hear an urgent application to temporarily pause proceedings of the inquest into the death of the Black Consciousness leader Steve Biko.
Initially the Biko family requested the sitting Judge Isaac Madondo to postpone the proceedings.
The postponement was to obtain critical affidavit and documents from the 1977 inquest.
The family want it translated from Afrikaans into English, so all participating legal teams have accurate understanding.
Madondo refused the application citing time constrains.
