Kenyan runners Victor Kiplagat and Millicent Kemunto expressed strong confidence in their preparations for the upcoming Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon after sweeping the half-marathon titles at the Parklands Sports Club warm-up event.
Kiplagat took the men’s 21km title in 1 hour, 10 minutes, and 10 seconds, while Kemunto claimed the women’s crown in 1 hour, 22 minutes, and 46 seconds.
The warm-up race, which featured events across 6km, 10km, 15km, and 21km distances, drew over 2 000 athletes testing their fitness ahead of the main flagship event scheduled for October 25, 2026.
As part of the nationwide build-up towards the World Athletics Label Road race, organisers will also host a satellite run in Mombasa on October 18.
