Law Society of Kenya has criticised the government’s directive banning foreign nationals
The Law Society of Kenya has criticised the government’s directive banning foreign nationals from operating as small-scale traders and hawkers.
The Society has warned that the order by President William Ruto violates critical regional treaties.
A week ago, Ruto made an announcement that foreign traders and small business owners had until September 7 to shut their stores.
He was addressing a micro, small and medium-sized enterprise traders at State House in Capital Nairobi.
The Law Society says this order breaches the East African Community Treaty and the Common Market Protocol.
