Cameroon’s Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family Marie-Thérèse Abena Ondoa has led government Ministers, civil society groups, campaigners and traditional rulers in launching a three-month national campaign against femicide, following the reported killing of more than 120 women this year.

The campaign seeks to confront the drivers of these killings, from jealousy and domestic violence to gender inequality, witchcraft practices and male dominance, while strengthening prevention, protection and accountability.
