President Emmerson Mnangagwa has launched a nationwide youth housing initiative in Mashonaland Central to mark Zimbabwe’s inaugural Munhumutapa Day national public holiday.
Addressing tens of thousands of attendees in Mvurwi, Mnangagwa broke ground on a 259-hectare residential housing development designed to allocate serviced land and residential stands to young beneficiaries across the province, with initial allocations targeting over 2 000 local youth.
The event marks the first official observance of Munhumutapa Day as a national holiday, designated to commemorate historical nation-building while promoting contemporary economic empowerment initiatives for Zimbabwe’s youth.
