Malaysia says it is looking to deepen trade and economic cooperation with South Africa (SA), as the two countries seek new markets amid shifting global trade dynamics.
Malaysian High Commissioner to SA, Dato’ Yubazlan Haji Yusof, says the two countries have ample room to expand bilateral trade, which stood at $1.3 billion last year.
Yusof was speaking to Channel Africa in Pretoria, Gauteng Province, during celebrations marking Malaysia’s National Day and Malaysia Day.
He also highlighted plans for a possible direct flight between the two countries and urged SA businesses to explore opportunities in Malaysia’s growing halal industry.
