Malawi’s 13-member parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee, led by Chairperson Walter Nyamilandu Manda, is continuing its inquiry into the June 10, 2024 plane crash that killed former Vice-President Saulos Chilima and eight others.
On Wednesday, community witness Flora Mkandawire told the committee that she was threatened and that police detained her two sons after she reported the crash to authorities.
Mkandawire said she was collecting firewood in the Chikangawa Forest when she saw the aircraft flying for about three minutes before it appeared to change course and crash.
