The South African National Editors Forum( SANEF) has called on the authorities in the Djibouti to urgently facilitate Micah Reddy’s safe return to SA and provide clarity on his whereabouts and circumstances.

The Executive Director of SANEF is Reggy Moalusi says,  “The case indicates that journalists continue to struggle and to work freely across the continent when it comes to their work. There are still some governments across the continent that view journalists as threats that view journalists as an inconvenience. We call on these governments to recognize media freedom, to support media freedom, and to let journalists do their work.”
