South Africa (SA) has recorded a decline in road fatalities so far this year, but motorists are being urged to do more to improve road safety.
The call was made as the government launched its October 2026 Transport Month campaign on Thursday at the University of SA’s School of Business Leadership.
The campaign brings together national and provincial transport officials and the heads of major transport entities.
The focus is to improve safety, reliability, sustainability and affordability of the country’s transport system.
