South Africa’s (SA) International Relations Minister, Ronald Lamola, has held talks in New Alamein City with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, focusing on economic co-operation. They met on the margins of the African Forum in Egypt.
SA President Cyril Ramaphosa is representing SA at the 8th African Union (AU) Mid-Year Co-ordination Meeting as the chair of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.
The AU leaders will exchange views on the status of continental integration.
Lamola and his Egyptian counterpart Abdelatty have identified opportunities to advance economic relations.
They also looked at ways to push for the promotion of the African agenda, and they committed to working together on many fronts.
The ministers also signed the agreement to establish a Bi-National Commission (BNC) between SA and Egypt.
