South African (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa says his investment drives are finally starting to pay off.
Ramaphosa has officially inaugurated Vedanta Zinc International’s (VZI) Gamsberg Phase 2 concentrator near Aggeneys in the Northern Cape province .
The plant will see the raw minerals being extracted from the earth being beneficiated to around 45 percent before they are exported.
The Indian-owned Vedanta has consistently made pledges at the investment conference.
Vedanta’s Gamsberg mine will now extract half a million tonnes of zinc annually, making it the biggest producer of zinc in the world.
