The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of South Africa (SA) has launched its National Results Operations Centre at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg, ahead of the country’s upcoming Local Government Elections on Wednesday, November 4 2026.
The facility will serve as the principal hub for monitoring voting, capturing ballot data, and tracking real-time election results across SA’s 257 municipalities. Parallel operations centres have also been established in all nine provincial capitals.
The launching of the national hub provides political parties, independent candidates, election observers, and the media with direct access to live electoral statistics and data feeds, reinforcing operational transparency as millions of South Africans prepare to head to the polls.
