Marking two decades of continental peacebuilding efforts, the Chairperson of the African Union’s (AU) Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Development (PCRD) framework has called for enhanced political backing and dedicated financial investments to secure lasting stability across member states.
Addressing stakeholders ahead of upcoming high-level forums commemorating twenty years of the PCRD policy, leadership highlighted that translating long-term peace frameworks into tangible actions requires moving past commitments on paper to secure reliable, predictable domestic and continental funding.
The milestone anniversary events bring together regional leaders, policymakers, and international partners to review historical bottlenecks in rebuilding war-torn nations, address institutional gaps, and scale up targeted investments in governance, infrastructure, and community resilience.
