Libya’s eastern-based House of Representatives has officially appointed Fawzi Abu Khazam as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Libya.
The appointment follows the acceptance of former Governor Naji Issa’s resignation by the parliament.
Abu Khazam stepped into the role to steer the central bank’s institutional continuity, manage national reserves, and oversee payment processing amid the country’s ongoing political and administrative divisions.
