The East African Court of Justice will mark a quarter-century of judicial service on November 12 in Arusha, bringing together regional Chief Justices, government Ministers, and civil society delegates under the theme “25 Years of the East African Court of Justice: From Foundation to Future.”
Court President Justice Nestor Kayobera described the silver jubilee as an opportunity to reflect on regional legal integration while subjecting the bench to constructive public evaluation, observing that true judicial strength comes from open scrutiny.
Uganda’s First Deputy Prime Minister Rebecca Kadaga will preside over the official opening, leading an agenda focused on expanding the court’s remit into commercial disputes, improving the enforcement of regional rulings across member states, and unveiling a strategic roadmap extending through 2032.
