SA booked their place in the final four for the first time ever, following a commanding 79–45 victory over the Cook Islands last night. Speaking at the post-match press conference, Mthembu says the team’s unbeaten run reflects their hard work both on and off the court, adding that the players have shown “maturity beyond their years” throughout the tournament.
“I am incredibly proud of the girls and have tears for making history and secure a very first quarterfinal victory over Cook Island , this s unbelievable. This win is a testimonial of the players is hard work, their discipline and believe in each other. Each player has shown what the needed to show in this journey. The girls were very determined from the word go,” Mthembu said.
