World Tennis Association doubles number two Taylor Townsend has pulled out of the China Open in Beijing, citing a “change of schedule.”

The 29-year-old American had been set to compete as the top seed in women’s doubles alongside Czech partner Katerina Siniakova. The pair were runners-up at the United States Open earlier this month.

Townsend’s withdrawal comes days after she faced criticism for describing buffet food in China as “crazy” while competing at the Billie Jean King Cup in Shenzhen, which concluded on Sunday.
