They earned certification from the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) in partnership with Olympic Solidarity and the Liberia Basketball Association (LBA).

The programme, which took place in Monrovia, was led by veteran Kenyan FIBA-Africa instructor Roland Owino. LBA President Abraham Samukai said participants would receive their official FIBA licences once Owino submits his final report.

Samukai added that, from the start of the next season, only coaches and referees holding FIBA certification would be permitted to operate in Liberia’s premier basketball leagues, a move aimed at improving the quality and professionalism of the sport in the country.
