South African (SA) motorists are expected to get some reprieve when the SA’s Mineral Resources and Petroleum Department announces the September fuel price adjustments, before they take effect on Wednesday next week

The Central Energy Fund’s preliminary data shows a possible 4c drop for a litre of 95-grade petrol, while 93-grade is expected to decrease by 12c per litre. The price of diesel is expected to decline by 55c per litre and paraffin by 37c per litre.

The decreases in fuel prices are largely due to a stable rand-dollar exchange rate and lower international oil prices.
